We have been trying our best to return to this place but it's always closed. We finally got it today and able to order our usual dishes - samusas, house noodle with beef and mango chicken. The price is awesome! $5 for the samusas and only $8 each for the other dishes! Place is small with a counter for up to ten people. So if you have a big group...this place ain't for you! Expect long line and wait times during busy periods (if they're open)!

Okay - I've tried to come here a few times but the group was either too large (would not try with more than two people) or Yamo would be closed, but we finally had a chance to stop by here on a weeknight. Can I just say - FINALLY. I'm not an expert in Burmese food, but you don't have to be an expert in anything to appreciate the no-frills, homey cooking that happens here. I also love that every other customer that walks in here is a regular, and the mother-daughter duo (I think) are never fazed by their endless line of customers and orders.

Came around 6pm and there was small line. The shop is in mission so parking is major ass + a bit sketch in some areas. I'd recommend walking or public transportation. Shop is super small with maybe 6 spots counter seating for dine in. Service is quite slow as it is family run and only 1-2 people cook so we waited about 5min to order and 30min for food to go. 8/10 Yamo House Noodles $8 - definitely a banging steal meal for SF! Hidden gem so give it a try before prices keep increasing though. The noodles come al dente, hot, garlicky, and I'd add some salt or chicken seasoning from home personally for more flavor as it lacked some. Beef and pork were both bomb meat options. They are fried well with a slight crisp but still juicy. Portion of meat is very little but noodles were solid amount. Also no veggies so I'd recommend having stuff at home ready to pair with!

I have been wanting to try Yamo for SO LONG but the timing was never right. Last night finally walked over with friends, it's a tiny space with just counter seating so we placed to-go orders. It's cash only as a heads up! Our food was ready in 20 minutes so we killed time at the boba place nearby. The food itself is very good, is it 5 stars on its own? Maybe not, but for the price and portions it's out of this world. We got the beef house noodle, beef curry, samosas, and tea leaf salad. The tea leaf salad is a must try; the noodles and curry were good if a little sparse on beef; and the samosas were standard but warm and homey. It's a mother and daughter running it; they bring character to an otherwise unsuspecting spot. Will be back again when the timing is right!

Great little hole in the wall that is WORTH the wait. Bar seating only and it probably sits 8 people which results in a long line. If you're just doing takeout stick your head in and order to avoid the line. The food portions are awesome! Ordered the tea Leaf salad and mushroom tofu. Both left me fully very full and satisfied. I recommend at least two dishes per person and at the $5 and $8 price points it's pretty great. Staff is super friendly too and seemed to know a few regulars which definitely upped the vibe. I hope to be a regular too!
